Friction welding enables the joining of dissimilar metals.

Oya Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

The process involves friction welding, a method that generates frictional heat by rubbing two workpieces together and then applying pressure to bond their structures at a molecular level.

We have experience not only in joining materials of the same type, but also in joining dissimilar metals such as copper and aluminum, titanium and aluminum, aluminum and stainless steel, and stainless steel and iron.

Has this ever happened to you?

  • I want to join different metals, such as copper and aluminum, or aluminum and titanium.

  • I want to prevent water and air from leaking at the joints.

  • I would like stronger joints and more consistent quality.

  • We are looking for a supplier that can handle copper, such as copper and copper, or copper and titanium.

Friction welding is a process in which two workpieces to be joined are rubbed together at high speed to generate frictional heat, which is then applied under pressure to bond their structures at a molecular level.

At Oya Seisakusho, we can join not only identical metals, but also dissimilar metals.

Recently, we have been doing a lot of joining work with materials such as copper and aluminum, and copper and iron.

Oya Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s Commitment

1. Leave copper joining and processing to us!

We specialize in joining dissimilar metals.

Friction welding allows for the joining of dissimilar metals. We have experience joining special alloy materials to forged pure copper products.

It's possible to use expensive materials for the tip and inexpensive materials for the majority of the rest, rather than constructing the entire thing from expensive materials.

For example, cost reductions can be achieved by using copper only in the parts where strength is required, and inexpensive aluminum for the other parts. Although copper is said to be difficult to work with, please leave it to us.

2. Secure bonding quality that won't come undone even in harsh environments!

Please contact us even for small orders.

Friction welding is a joining method that bonds the structures of two materials at a molecular level. Because the joined area is alloyed with no impurities, it can withstand high temperatures close to the melting point of the base material.

Parts joined using friction welding can be used even in environments where adhesives or brazing would be inadequate.

Furthermore, the joining process is numerically controlled and performed using machine control. This ensures consistent quality regardless of the worker.

3. No liquid leaks from the joints! No air leaks! We solve your problems with our jointing solutions.

This process can be completed by manufacturing and joining together parts with large and small outer diameters, such as flange shafts and flange nipples, which have a large difference in outer diameter.

This leads to reduced material costs and fewer manufacturing steps, resulting in significant cost advantages for mass-produced parts.

Furthermore, unlike conventional welding, this method joins surfaces together, allowing for a uniform bond from the center to the outer edge. Therefore, there is no need to worry about leaks, even in parts where ① liquids pass through (pipe structures) or ② air passes through.

To reduce the product's weight, titanium is used only for the parts that require strength, and aluminum is used for the rest of the product.
The photo shows an example of a joint, made of titanium and aluminum (anodized).
